Week 1

Time flies when you’re having fun – it’s already been 1 week! I decided I wanted to work at C&M when I learned about their workplace culture. This is something that is very important to me and I do my best work when I work in an environment that is exciting, challenging, flexible, and fun. I was excited that everyone has been so welcoming to me and offering help wherever they can. I come from a nonprofit background so it has been an adjustment to learn about the for-profit and accounting business, but the firm has provided several resources to help me get up to speed and learn all that I can, which has been awesome! I look forward to continuing to learn and grow with and from my new C&M family.

Month 1

My experience at Clayton & McKervey has been great this past month! Everyone in the firm has been very welcoming and helpful in getting me settled and engrained in the culture.

What I enjoy most about working here is the opportunity and the atmosphere! I could walk up to anyone in the firm and ask a question and they are more than happy to help out or point me in the right direction. I also enjoy that the leadership is open to ideas (big or small) and they give you the freedom to think outside the box. They truly “walk the walk!”

My most memorable moment so far was the celebration of Chinese New Year. It was great to get the whole firm together and learn about a celebration and a culture that we really didn’t know too much about prior. It was fun to see everyone get excited about learning more and embracing diversity and various cultures and backgrounds. I had so much fun being a part of it!

Overall, the first month has gone so fast and I have already learned so much. I am very excited to be a part of an organization that values its staff and wants them to succeed at whatever they want to do. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here!
